Medical experts agree that learning how to manage stress is a key tool for good diabetes management and a healthier life. There are several different stress management techniques that have been shown to be effective— physical activity, meditation and breathing exercises are all good options.
Meditation in particular is a really useful skill for anyone who is trying to be healthier. Researchers from John Hopkins University have found that general mindfulness meditation programs help improve symptoms of anxiety, depression and pain related to stress. Many studies have consistently show that meditation can result in less anxiety, lower blood pressure, as well as better sleep and an improved immune system.
You don’t need to have any prior experience to start meditating and you don’t have to buy any equipment or commit to anything beyond taking a few minutes a day a few times a week to start developing real skills that can improve your life.
We have three different audio meditations that you can download and follow along with to get started:

Start with whichever one you’re most interested in and dedicate the time to doing it every day for the upcoming week—your physical, emotional and mental well-being is worth it.
